Frequently Asked Questions:

(We haven't been asked many questions yet but feel free to ask away on our forum, or comment at the bottom of this page if you have a question)

1: Why don't the wheels come with a cable?

For two related reasons, firstly it makes them more expensive, and secondly you may not want or need the cable that came with it - in which case you spent money on something you didn't need.

There are lots of ways to connect up HUB-ee wheels to a robot and you may find that you need an extra long cable, or that you want to run several wheels off a single cable in a chain.

For more information see our cables and connecting guides on the resources page.

2: Those Micro-MaTch connectors don't fit into an 0.1" strip board or breadboard. What can I do?

You can buy our break out board which breaks the Micro-MaTch connector into a single row of 0.1" holes - ideal for bread board prototyping.

If you can't get hold of a break out board you can use a standard IDC connector and crimp it onto the cable with a vice - You can then use standard 0.1" header pins (2 rows, 4 pins each) soldered to stripboard.

3: Why don't the wheels come with a break out board for the connectors?

See the answers to questions 1 and 2.
